BEST REVIEW EVER

I came into this saying "How can we mock Sesame Street?" and you couldn't. You're completely right when you say it embodies our childhood, but to have Chester finish the review is nothing short of amazing. The fanservice is off the fucking chain, and it's just well done because he mocks the movie without needing to actually mock it.

It's impossible tear apart our childhood, but you did the best job you could without literally arising with a black heart. Well done Nostalgia Critic, well done.

I don't think you can mock Sesame Street as a whole, but there are parts of it that are very mock-worthy. Such as Kami, the HIV-positive Muppet from the South African version. I mean, it's great that they want to educate people about HIV, but seriously? A Muppet?!?!

I think this might very well be my favorite NC ever. Even though you didn't make fun of it (which, in all honesty, you just can't make fun of "Sesame Street") you still managed to make it so hilarious. Especially whenever you'd see the characters and get all excited. It's okay Nostalgia Critic. Girl's find guys with a sensitive side very attractive.

The Bum gets around an awful lot for a guy that lives in a box.

Sesame Street is critic-proof. Plain and simple. The Nostalgia Critic thrives on good memories turned sour or bad memories turned worse, and Sesame Street is just timeless, wonderful purity. Anyone who doesn't have good memories of Big Bird and company has lived a deprived childhood. Anyone who looks on Sesame Street with disdain has a heart two sizes too small (I know that's a different kid's movie, but work with me here).

There's no possible way that the NC could have finished this review in his trademarked cynical and psychotic manner. The Ask That Guy persona might have worked, since that character is pure evil, but he would have taken too long. When you need to wrap a review up quickly and humorously, with no regard to detail, Chester A. Bum is the only guy you can possibly turn to.

That said, as much as I like Chester, I really, really don't want to see him used as a crutch for the NC or ATGWTG any more often than necessary. I can understand why he was used here, but still.

Overall, I really liked this review. It was honest-to-goodness nostalgia, without any of the headaches or humiliation that it so often comes with. I wouldn't want to see that often from the NC, but every now and then, it's nice to look back on a good memory instead of a bad one.

He even ruined there is a monster at the end of this book do yourself a favor get a copy of it's sequel with Elmo in it and burn it....but classic sesame street, no you can't mock that. Hilarious review, NC/Chester. I remember when my nickname in grade school was Snuffuluffogus because of, well...look at my name!

"Sesame Street is where I belong! Now go back to Russia, crazy lady!!" I couldn't stop laughing at that part.

Not nostalgic for me, but great review
written by qwertyblue64 , August 19, 2008
Being born in 1991, I wouldn't be able to truly remember a movie from the mid to late 80s when it came out in theatres. For me, there was a Sesame Street movie called "Elmo in Grouchland" but I was too old for Sesame Street when it came out. Well, I guess "Follow that Bird" would be bad for people like us because we're too old to watch Sesame Street by at least 7 years if not, in my case, at least 9 or 10. If I was a little kid, I'd probably like Follow that Bird.

Grouches of the world unite! Stand up for your grouchy right! Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain! Just stand up and complain!
smilies/cheesy.gif Leave it to Seaseme Street to sum up America in a cute little diddy. I still love this movie and own it on DVD.

Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?
written by angry_nostalgia_video_game_critic_nerd , August 19, 2008
Yeah, it's just down 5th Avenue, hang a left around the giant manmoth. Awesome review TGWTG, only one thing that creeped me out is that you sounded almost too similar to a girl friend of mine everytime you started reminising about Grover and Snuffalupagus, but still an awesome review. Kudos for such talent.

The nostalgia critic is definitely superior at reviewing bad movies than complimenting anything, but this still made me laugh at some parts. Keep up the good work!
