Critic, that was a great review, but you forgot the best part! The film maker's left it open for a sequel!!!! I think you need to make an addendum to this episode. How do I know this? Because I saw it in the theaters...when I was SIX YEARS OLD.

That was more of a chuckle-worthy Nostalgia Critic, but the head-turning montage definitely made me laugh really loud.

And the John McCain running gag was a highlight as well (and I like him as well).

Well, I'm off to put this film on my rental queue now. smilies/smiley.gif

Well, what really surprised me was that they didn't stop the show after that point. They actually went on to make a renewed version of the original cartoon series, only except the story was told differently. But what do I know, I haven't seen the 80's series, I've only seen the series that came out in the 2000's later on.

Ok sure, the cartoon was Conan The Homosexual, but the movie, it was ok back then. And you gotta admit, Sceletor was much better than his "I'm He-Man's little bitch" cartoon counterpart. I liked it that they made somewhat darker than the cartoon.

There are worst sexual imlications in a cartoon. Like the Smurfs.. 100 male smurfs and one female, Smurfette. Is this screaming gang-bang or what? Okay, Blue gang-bang. Whatever... You get my point.

Now if you want a gay cartoon, that would be SpongeBob Squarepants. Or Chris Crocker...

I'm just wondering - would you have been happy if they did call Gwildor OrKo?? I mean if they did call him Orko you'd just say that they didn't make him look anything like he's suposed to. I think with this type of thing it's better to introduce a new character instead of fucking up an existing one.

and is it just me, or did the music sound like a ripoff of the Superman theme? John Williams must be pissed (oh wait, he's raking in the cash from the Olympics).

just be glad that John Woo ultimately did not get tapped to direct a new He-Man movie. Woo and Uwe Boll are on my list to take out now before they ruin any more of the things i love.

No Tom Paris (StarTrek Voyager) jokes? smilies/cry.gif
No do's and don'ts compared with the original (the only one that matters) StarWars trilogy? smilies/cry.gif
Because just about every skeletor-plot device can be traced back to any one of the three movies! Heck, that was the only reason to go see the movie in the first place!

But nothing about the sorceress between cartoon and movie either? smilies/shocked.gif
I mean, most boys had their first wet dream over the sorceress from the cartoon! For a cartoon-chick, she was smokin'! Then there is this sorceress, that pretty much cured the same boys of ever having a wet dream again and just turned them into nightmares. smilies/sad.gif

But you know that you have a poor man's villian, when the power-trip performanceis worse than the one of Dennis Hopper in 'My Science Project'. smilies/shocked.gif
In fact, there are some shots taken from that movie as well, but that's besides the point.

Btw, I still think She-Ra had the better villian in Hordac anyways. smilies/wink.gif

Good shit, He-man is so macho and gay he actually has me questioning my sexuality... nono i'm sure i'm straight but still... nice pecks though. Quality stuff. Maybe it's just because i'm english but i don't get the sudden craze where it's popular to make fun of John Mcain... seems everyone is doing it and it just goes straight over my head.

No wonder you couldn't understand which accent He-Man had, because Dolf Lundgren (The actor who played He-Man and Ivan Drago) is Swedeish. So that accent is what Swedish people actually sound like when they speak English. (Which is rare to hear in American movies... but let's not get in to that.)

He-Man is so far in the closet, he's having adventures in Narnia, which is the only reason why it's funny. Similarly with Captain Planet.

And at the end when Skeletor transforms, I swear to god, he transforms into Mahakali who is a GODDESS. Seriously, he even has the neck thing. Except he only has two arms...but still. However, I have to say, Skeletor (not in uber-god(dess) form) does look cool, even though the guy is obviously wearing a mask.

I've watched the entire cartoon series (and the movie). Prince Adam wears some of the gayest clothes I've ever seen, but NOwhere in the cartoon does he ever show homosexual interests. He DOES show heavy heterosexual interests though. Lavender clothes and being gently spoken are as close to "gay" as he gets.

By the way. Prince Adam's mother (Queen Marlena) is actually FROM Earth. It's actually not strange at ALL that they would wind up there. It IS strange that no one mentioned it, though. (The writers of the movie OBVIOUSLY didn't watch much (if any) of the cartoon).

The "Of course" line IS getting kind of old ... but that's what makes it AWESOME. Keep it up!

I liked the movie as a kid
written by Kuraime , August 12, 2008
He-Man cartoon was propably one of my earliest cartoons I can remember watching. I was a huge fan, but I cant seem to remember much from the series. However, when I watched this movie as a kid, I was so hyped that I didn't care that it sucked bad. Im not that sure if it's that gay. I mean, sure they dress in such clothes, but that doesn't really make it gay. If it would, movies like Troy or 300 would be gay too.
Im writing these things from my memory, I haven't seen this movie since I was a child.

BTW: There is a new Masters of the Universe movie coming in 2009. I for one am waiting to see if it's gonna suck like this one. Hope Orko and Cringer are in this one.

Great stuff. When I saw that movie as kid I was extremely exited about. I mean it was after all live action He-Man movie. You brought some new perspective to that movie with your review. Thank you NC.

Fooled you! ROFL at that part.

And of course he'd still be falling while they were wrapping the movie up, thats the main characteristic of an endless pit!

And does anyone else notice how she goes back and stops her parents from getting on the plane, but makes no attempt to save the other 300 people on the plane who she knows are gonna die? what a disgusting fat whore she is!

Forget the movie, He-Man already declared itself gay just at the mere mention of (Oh, I don't Know) "FABULOUS Secret Powers."

Harry Knowles, that was a brilliant touch! Strangely enough "Spaceballs" came out the same year as this movie!

Look online for He-Man: The Quest For Chicken, a 3-part parody of the animated 1983 series. Very funny stuff!

You mean to tell me that this movie's budget was so low that they had to make an excuse to rewrite the script and have them set in New Jersey?!

Kevin Corrigan
written by Witney , August 12, 2008
I never did see this film. But, thanks to you, now I don't feel I have to. You remembered it for me. Thank you for the great service you do.

Did anyone else catch that the boyfriend of the Cox character was named Kevin Corrigan? The indie actor from "Slums of Beverly Hills," "Detroit Rock City," "The Departed," "Superbad," and many others? (His IMDb page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0180984/) Perhpas the character would have been more interested if he was played by Kevin Corrigan.

Wow this movie is like a pile of crap..only gayer

And if the movie was called "He-man and the Raiders of the Kentucky Fried Chicken" I would totally watch it. Maybe it could be a sequal! smilies/grin.gif
