Hahah. Classic as always. I was honestly expecting Darkwing Duck or some show along those lines to be #1. So when it turned out to be Ducktales, I laughed and whole heartedly agreed. Nice job once again.

Ah, simply a fantastic job again, NC smilies/smiley.gif. Well, that I was hoping that you would also be able to include "The Raccoons" theme, but oh well. So, actually, my personal favs on your list are #10, #9, #8, and no doubt #1 smilies/wink.gif. Actually, according to the map shown on "Follow That Bird", that "Sesame Street" is actually in like New York or somewhere around there :.

Yeah, that I agree that "Reading Rainbow"'s theme is simply annoying, but that I still like it for both its general sort of "mystical/new age/out-of-this-world/whatever" sound to it and its female singer. Believe it or not, that I think that I never saw the cartoon, but that yeah, the game show of Carmen Sandiego kicked butt smilies/cool.gif. Oh, yes, that the "DuckTales" theme is catchy, but that it simply doesn't go away. Lastly, that I simply can't wait to hear what you're going to say about the "Little Giants" movie, huh smilies/wink.gif?

Aww damn, where the hell was Hong Kong Phooey?!
Or the original Spider-man series, it was the biggest piece of shit on TV, only redeeming because of it's theme song, which is what we think of now when we think 'Spiderman'.

Interestingly, the Power Rangers theme song was actually commissioned as single release by none other than Satan himself, Simon Cowell. It actually reahced #1 in the charts if you can believe that.

XD The Critic is right about the Duck Tales theme being so good that no one remembers the show itself. I only remember a time where they copied Indiana Jones, but instead of a big ball heading at them, the floor collapsed (it's in the opening credits).

Duck Tales, that bring backs so many fond childhood memories. I love how it's translated into every language ever too, being a norwegian I'm used to the norwegian version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMse9lTlPKk

Which is kind of amazing, because all other non-educational shows (aka all fun shows) were in swedish. I absolutely loved fraggle rock and gummy bears too though (fraggle rock=norwegian, gummy bears=swedish):

The truth is, Duck Tales has a mysterious power, resulting from its ancient curse of gold - Scrooge McDuck (who was just Disney's version of Ebenezer Scrooge in Scottish duck form) build his fantastic fortune from his lucky dime. But how did that create such a catchy theme song?

By the evil witchcraft of Magica DeSpell, the evil duck witch with a beak for theme songs. We should just be grateful the song wasn't any long. Otherwise we'd still be listening to it.

But...I liked the Ducktales theme song. smilies/cry.gif

I agree with you on Ducktales only having a few memorable items beyond the theme song, but I also remember this gadgeteering duck whose name escapes me making a cybernetic suit with the access code being "blather-skite". An uninformed and absent-minded duck (whose name also escapes me) happened upon the suit but could not figure out how to work it. He says in frustration, "Blathering blather-skite," and PRESTO! We have Duckberg's superhero, Gizmo-Duck! Gizmo-Duck also made a cameo in an episode of Darkwing Duck, which regularly featured Launchpad McQuack, that pilot who always crashes.

The 90's Spiderman cartoon has some catchy opening music. Hardly any words, too!

I'm with Dan Shannon, no "Real Ghostbusters"? Shit nevermind the movie, that opening and the Ghostbusters theme song was stuck in my head back in '86 when it came out and now a whole 22 years later, much like Duck Tales, it creeps in there from time to time.

"There's something strange, in the neighbourhood.....who ya gonna call...GHOSTBUSTERS!"

DEE DA DEE DA DEE DA DEE DA DEE DA-DUNNA-DA DEE DA DEE DA DEE DA DEE DA DEE DA DEH DEH!

IT NEVER ENDED!

Then again, for my best friend it was definitely Duck Tales, as he went out and bought whatever DVD sets there are out for that show.

P.S. where's He-Man also?

HE MAN, DUH DUH DE-DUNNA-DUH DUH.....HE MAN!

I guess you can't win them all haha.

Damnit, I've had Ducktales stuck in my head all day thanks to you!

I agree, I was never a Power Rangers kid, but the theme song is pretty cool.

How bout this gem?
"Darkwing Duck/ Let's Get Dangerous/Darkwing Duck/ When there's trouble you call DW"
Weezer even made a song "Everybody Get Dangerous" on their new record based on that phrase. HOW did you miss that one?

Sadly the thing I remember most about Ducktales was.....ROBODUCK! Why? I don't know, it's just there. I also remember themes like Bucky O' Hare, Exosquad and Robotech. And yes, The Real Ghostbusters should have had a spot in there but I guess that would be put into a more mature audience as with above titles (Meaning post 5 y/o's). Anyway, another great video, keep them coming.

Fantastic list!

Man, I could never get Duck Tales out of my head! I even remember renting a VHS with 3 eps on it (can't remember what happened in any of them), but what I do remember is they actually played the end credits for all 3 of them, one after the other! Not in between individual episodes, but all at the end! So, it was a triple-dose of the instrumental version of the opening theme tune! It's almost as if they were trying to force it into my brain!

Great stuff as usual, Nostalgia Critic! I'd agree with pretty much everything on the list, especially the Richard Stone team. Most of the tunes I'd have mentioned were pretty much summed up with that mention.

I can't think of any other tune that I would rather have seen on the list. You even included Power Rangers, (I plead guilty to being a fan when it was on), which I was kinda expecting since you mentioned the theme tune's catchiness in your "Power Rangers: The Movie" review (which I thought was rubbish at the time, thus putting to an end my liking for the show).

Looking forward to future reviews, especially "Saved By The Bell". That will really bring back the memories!

Not bad. But you should have added Saber Raider and the Star Sheriffs intro, that song
was sure catchy and spiderman song also :/
Also one more song that many people remember in my country is opening from Granzort, yes it's anime ( like pokemon ) and it's on jap language but the song sure is catchy ...
