Hello all,

I'm sure you all love reading these so, I guess I'll get the boring stuff out of the way.

Site Updates/Fixes:

-User List:
    -You can now find people by usernames.  Basically it's just a basic search for now, but at least you can kind of find some people.

-Who's Online:
    -The Who's Online area on the Front Page now shows the number of guests on the site.

-Comments:
    -You can now add titles to your posts.
    -If a comment gets 6 negative votes, it is now set to autohide.  Please do not abuse this.

-Favorite Icon:
    -A favorite icon for the site has been added.

-IE 6/7 Crash when logged in.
    -I finally figured out what was causing it; expect it to be fixed by Sunday.

-New Video Player.
    -A new video player is on the way, and will have some cool features built in to it.  You will finally be able to embed our videos on your sites!

-Donation:
    -An updated FAQ page will be added to the site tomorrow, explaining everything. 

-The Latest Donation Drive:
    -Wow, that went really well, and we thank you all.  Your generosity has truly helped us out.  We hope all those who have donated, are enjoying all the goodies that we have put up for you.  We plan on moving the Ask ThatGuy series along with the Bum Reviews to a new server, one that will give us much more options, and heck maybe the high quality streaming videos will slowly begin to return to the site.

-Forums:
    -I'm going to have a poll at the bottom of this article.  Basically the question is, would you all care if you had to create another login/password account to use the forum.  Answer Yes if you DO NOT want to make another account, and Answer No, if you wouldn't mind.  I'm asking this because, if we get an overwhelming No (2 accounts is cool), I probably can get the forums up by Saturday, but if the response leans towards Yes (I don't want to make another account); the forums will have to wait a while, because I'm still trying to figure out how to sync your existing usernames/accounts with the forum software (thus requiring 1 login for everything on the site.)

-Blog Writers:
    -I briefly mentioned this a while back, so for those who forgot..  well here's a refresher.  The best blog writers here, will become featured article writers (like Last Angry Geek/The Other Guy), and have their work featured in the RSS Feed, on the Front Page, and in the Articles Menu.  I have people in mind, and will begin contacting them tomorrow night.  If you are selected and accept the role, well I think we will find some way to compensate you for your work (probably not money related.. at least for now).  For those who are not picked in this first round..  Keep writing, and make your posts a little more in depth, add pictures whatever.  I will probably add about 2-4 new people to this position a month.  If you're not writing blogs, give it a shot, because who knows what can happen in the future.

    -Ask ThatGuy will begin following a Wed/Fri release schedule, which means two new Ask ThatGuy's a week.
    -A new Bjork Show may be on the site by early to mid August.
    -Doug has picked the game that he will review.

-Premium Members:
    -Some new commentaries will be added in the coming days. (I believe they will be ones for Batman and Robin/Bjork Show Episode 1 and maybe Captain Planet)
    -Some more High Quality mp4s and IPOD videos will be added in the coming days.

BTW. i have an request for the Videocomments.
Can you put them upside down, so the newest comments appears on top and the older ones go down?
(like in Youtube)
This would be really great, because less people read more then the first 10 comments...

I'm not concerned with making a new account. I agree with Shilorius that newer comments should be at the top. I can't imagine people read every comment on each video, most likley just some of the recent ones. Looking forward to the forums =)

What kind of forum software are you planning to use? Also, this is Joomla, correct?

I had my SMF forum tied in with Joomla a while back. As long as you can find the appropriate connector scripts it should be fairly automatic.

Anything the Admin writes about is awesome to read! Can not wait for that forum action to take place on the site (so no little blog postings are needed for answering questions).

I wonder what the game is going to be too, oh well only time will tell.

I'm gonna have to vote one account on this one, and apologize to the site admin.
The only problem I have with not syncing the accounts is people imitating other users and giving them a bad name. I've seen it many times before, so that alone is the only thing influencing my vote.

Sorry again that it is a problem syncing things together.

I voted for two. If you have Firefox, you should definetly know the password manager. And besides, you'd be able to use and register the same username and password as the other account anyway, even if it technically wasn't the same account.

Look, I've been in that place trying to sync forum accounts and a general site account and no, don't do it. I know that it's more convient for us fans, but it will be so much easier and faster to just have two seperate accounts.

Let people whine if they want, they'll have a forum to whine on.

Questions about the poll

I have a couple of questions that I didn't understand when reading the article that obviously relates to the polls.

Question 1: When making the new account, does this mean our old account will be no longer accesible?

Question 2: If the accounts are no longer going to be accesible does it mean you will delete them? If so, then would this mean we can create the account we created originally?

Question 3: If we are going to actually be having 2 accounts without the other being deleted, would this also mean that you will eventually make our original account accesible to the forums so we no longer have to use our secondary account?

Question 4: If the majority vote yes will the forums no longer be created and put to a permanent hault?

Nope, it would be 2 separate accounts; 1 for the site and 1 for the forum.

Answered above.

If the forums went up right away, this would hopefully be the plan.

Forums will still be a future feature, no matter the outcome.

1 - i agree we need an edit feature for our Comments (typo's can be a pain in the ass)

2 - I also agree that “New” comments need to appear above “Old” comments (like Youtube but on this site.....makes responding easier )

i really don't get what's the big deal with two passwords. why not just use the same password? it's really not that big of a deal. now forums won't be happening for a while because of this.

Agh, reverse chronological comment threads annoys me for some reason. Oh well, I guess I'll get used to it. :x

Any chance we can get a "write comment" box at the top of the discussion? Right now, after reading the latest post you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to respond.

For awhile the Newest comments where shown above the Oldest ones......
but now its reverted back to the original....Oldest comments above the Newest ones....

I think it should be Newest comments first....but also have the “write comments” box above the new comments....maybe
